Readings Tool

I just added a readings tool to the Transcription Tool and Psalm Tone Tool. This is to aid in the chanting of an epistle, gospel, etc.

In English text, if the accent is not on the second from last syllable, it must be marked by putting an asterisk somewhere in the accented syllable or immediately after the accented syllable, as I have done in the example text.

Mediants may be marked by doubled commas or by commas followed by new lines.
Semicolons, colons, and periods mark full stops. Questions are marked by question marks.

UPDATE: The page is here if you don't have the chrome app.

  1. I use your tool a lot, thank you a ton! But it seems the readings tool isn't working yet. Or is that just me?

  2. I'm not sure why it isn't working right now. It had been working before; I will look into it later. Thanks for letting me know of this.

  3. It works again now. It was failing because the default was to have Use Puncta Cava checked, but the last syllable is accented, and there is nowhere for a punctum cavum to go in that case, so I changed it to never allow using puncta cava on the readings page.

This page will probably look best in Chrome or Safari
